Delicate and venerable / 繊細にして尊い

この尊敬すべきウイスキーに対する意見は様々だ。香りは驚くほどフルーティ（パッションフルーツ、パイナップル・フリッター、カスタードアップル、たっぷり陽を浴びたレーズン、熟したカンテロープメロン、ラズベリー入りケロッグスペシャルK）－ そしてデニッシュペストリー、ジンジャーブレッド、マーマレードをつけたトースト。 味も同様の輪郭を示してトロピカルフルーツのタルト風味、ブラックカレント・ジャム、ブラックチェリー、鳳来蕉がオーク、ブラウンシュガー、深いバニラ、そしてシェリー漬けフルーツケーキに包まれている。 加水すると、チョコレートとチェリーケーキの他に、緑の葉の香りが鼻に届く。我々の感想では、この繊細なウイスキーは加水しない方が良かった － 時間をかけて味わうだけで良かった。 グラント一家が守るMaryparkの蒸溜所から。 Opinions varied on this venerable whisky. The nose was amazingly fruity (passion fruit, pineapple fritters, custard apple, sun-soaked raisins, ripe Canteloupe, Special K with raspberries) – also Danish pastries, gingerbread and marmalade on toast. The palate followed similar contours; tart flavours of tropical fruits (sour apple, blackcurrant jam, black cherries, Monstera Deliciosa) wrapped in oak, brown sugar, deep vanilla and sherry-soaked fruit cake. With water, green leaf notes reached the nose, beside chocolate and cherry cake. We felt this delicate whisky didn't improve with water – it just needed time and appreciation.
